Home.
New Project. It's a work in progress, but I hope to share what makes people around me, and me, smile every day. Enjoy :)
Zaytinya, Downtown DC
Mediterranean tapas? Sounds hipster to me. We spent our last night in DC eating here. It was suggested to us by a family friend and it wasn’t until my parents walked in that they realized never to take suggestions from a newlywed couple.
US Capitol
The U.S. Capitol is said to be the most recognized building in the world. The statue of Freedom at the top of its dome is 19.5 feet tall, and in DC there is a law that prohibits any statue from exceeding 19 feet because nothing stands higher than freedom. My parents and I were walking around at midnight and my dad decided all of a sudden to walk up to the front of the building and start taking pictures. Being the scaredy-cat I am, I waited at the gates (asking to be attacked) until they forced me to join them and I walked up to see a group of college kids wading in the fountain while security guards stood at the top of the steps. I love DC…
